Featured Artist

Bob Doster Backstreet Gallery in Lancaster presents Meanderings by Robin Y. Zavada, May 16th from 5 until 8pm. Admission is free as part of Downtown Art Crawl. There'll be food, music, and a chance to mingle with the featured artists as well as others like Rick Bischoff, Raymond Overman, David Helwer, and Bob Doster. Proceeds from Zavada's sales will benefit the Humane Society of Lancaster County.

Robin Zavada is an award winning, self taught artist. Her work has been exhibited in a variety of North and South Carolina venues.

Rick Bischoff, a native of New Mexico, expresses his contrasting ideas into his artwork and uses the optical effects of light, color, and medium to create fine artwork with a contrast in style he calls Rustic Contemporary.

Over the past six years Raymond Overman have worked with wood as a pastime to bring his visions into reality. "As I have developed my understanding of the technique and craftsmanship of woodturning, I found myself moving from a 'let the tree tell me what it wants to be,' attitude to me controlling the process and reading the material to determine if it will fit my vision". David Helwer is a textile designer with an art degree from the university of Kansas, Lawrence.
